United Labels AG: First-half report

Solid order book after first six months

Münster, 15.07.2019. United Labels AG recorded Group revenue of €12.2 million (prev. year: €13.6 million) in the first six months of 2019. Group earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose slightly to €1,414 thousand (prev. year: €1,381 thousand), while EBIT amounted to €827 thousand (prev. year: €1,127 thousand).

Group profit after taxes was €370 thousand for the first half of the current financial year (prev. year: €457 thousand).

Substantial order intake in the weeks prior to the end of the reporting period led to an increase in order backlog by 34.2% to €6.3 million (prev. year: €4.7 million). Significantly more special-offer merchandise for Key Account retailers was placed for the fourth quarter of the current financial year, which is considered a particularly important period.

While Spain saw revenues dip year on year, Germany (+4%) and Belgium (+149%) in particular recorded revenue growth. Delivery of the new Playmobil merchandise is scheduled to commence in July 2019; these products will then be available to specialist retailers as ex stock items.

In addition to supplying goods to retail partners via a B2B shop, the Group markets selected product lines to end consumers through the proprietary online stores of Elfen Service GmbH.

The launch of new Special Retail collections centred around "Der kleine Rabe Socke", "Pummel & Friends", "Harry Potter" and the proprietary brand "Tacheles" is planned for the second half of the year.
